Sleepless nights...

    Damn I hate them!

    It's 3.30 am.
It's ok, I'm on a break over the holidays (being a teacher has its advantages) so I don't have to get up till 10 am, and 5 hours and a complete blood transfusion should be enough... But still?

So tired of tossing and turning. Counting sheep just won't work. I worked on a farm in my teens, so I know sheep are more likely to crawl under the fence than jumping it... And my cat is so annoyed at me for disturbing her, she gets grumpy if she doesn't get enough sleep...

So instead I sit here and try to calm down. It's ok... so what, I'll be a bit tired tomorrow. I have some Glögg, a Swedish tradition. Almost like mulled wine or glühwine, but stronger and more spice, maybe that will put me too sleep! ;)

What do you do when you have one of those nights? I need answers. And I need them fast... :D

I work nightshift, and I have struggled with sleeplessness for a long time.

Ultimately, having a good sleep pattern and sticking to it is what needs to be done - but on those off nights, there is nothing like a little sleep aid.

I've tried multiple things to fall asleep "naturally" and nothing worked. Tylenol PM ;) .

    Night, Night.

man, i feel for ya! i HATE that! what i do is stick one foot over the edge of the bed and jiggle it and jiggle it and jiggle it - which gets that tossing and turning bug out of the system. after awhile your foot'll get tired and hopefully you'll go to sleep. usually works for me!

Alcohol is the worst way to go. can make things worse. A nice hot shower.

Thanks for the advice guys! :)

I did fall asleep eventually, but I wasn't too happy when the alarm rang... ;)

LAIGo, I've worked shifts a lot in my life, and those shifts vary in lenght, so I do have a screwed up rythm. That is probably why I don't always sleep so well. And if I took something like that, I would very soon become dependent on them to sleep I think. So I keep well away! ;)

Uncle Bob, you are right, but the alcohol will make the hours funnier... :p
