sli video cards

    i've got a question, i'm beginning to build a new computer, but i want to know, i'm buyin an sli motherboard, and i want to get dual gfx cards. however the bulk of the motherbards i have found run each PCIe video card at 8X speed, i have only been able to find one board to run both at 16X speed. Is there really going to be a difference if i run one at 16 as opposed to duals each at 8?
