Sloooowwwwww Internet

I must have picked up a bug or something because my internet is real slow. About 10% of normal. Ran all the spyware I have , eliminated all my cookies, and it's still slow. I ran Hijack This and wasn't sure what to look for. Any ideas where I should look or what to do?

Could you please post some more information like what your specs are on your computer and stuff... thanx ^_^

 

The reason I didn't see it is because I have (by default) signatures not shown in threads. I didn't know that it wasn't shown so its not my fault. sorry if I caused any confusion. I tried explaining earlier but you must have deleted my post for some reason.

What browser? Have you updated all the latest service packs (if you're running Windows)? Check C drive and see if there's any gigantic files (hidden or otherwise). Run defrag lately? I know it's all simple stuff but worth a look.

I have broadband high speed connection, once in awhile my connection get's sloow, usually after storms, I unplug cable modem for a minute then hit reset then I'm back to nice speedy connection.
The reset is little hole in back of modem, reset using paperclip.

I think it may be my broadband. I'm on a network and I normaly run at 11.0 mbps but sometimes it goes as low a 1 or 2 mbps. My downloads normaly run at 100 kbps but have been as high a 300 kbps. Yesterday my download speed was at 12 kbps. I ran an anti -virus program and had no viruses and I defraged my HD ( long over due ). I'll try disconnecting my modum and see what happens.
