Slow booting and delay of programs starting

Running xp pro, 1g ram, 160g hard drive. Booting may take as long as 10 minutes. Some programs will load fairly fast at times but others may take a couple of minutes or longer. Have reformated and repartitioned and reloaded OS. No help. Ran hijackthis and here is the log.

While slow bootups could be cause by malware, it is very frequently just related to what you are loading at startup. I suggest you check what effect the below items are having on your startup.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinPatrol] D:\Downloads\WinPatrol\winpatrol.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PC Pitstop Optimize Scheduler] C:\Program Files\PCPitstop\Optimize\PCPOptimize.exe -boot
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Eraser] D:\programs\eraser\Eraser\eraser.exe -hide
O8 - Extra context menu item: E&xport to Microsoft Excel - res://C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE/3000

Note that ZoneAlarm can cause significant startup delay too.
