After I installed Norton Antivirus 2007 my computer has slowed way down. I have a high speed connection and it takes 15 mins to download a 4MB file after I installed Norton. Can anyone help me out with this problem?

What were you using before you installed Norton 2007? I just checked Symantec's site for system requirements for 2007, http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/sysreq.jsp?pcid=is&pvid=nav2007 , and ME was not a supported platform.

I'm not knocking Norton, but it is a resource hog! Most members of this site seem to favor AVG and Avast as they use less resources.

Please check the link that I provided as to 2007 compatability!:)

My error! I just went back and reread all your previous posts! So you have a new computer or upgraded to XP?:)

Why not use one of our other alternatives, they hog less resources and dont make your bootup drag like my Norton did. I use Avast! and it works as well as Norton without the slowness.
