Slow computer, possible memory leak, trouble uninstalling certain programs

    Hello,
My mom gave me this laptop after the boot file had been corrupted and she had received a new one for christmas. Using the windows disk the laptop had come with, I fixed the boot file with little trouble. My problem now is mainly how slow the computer and the internet runs. I can't check my email or use facebook since the sites don't load.
PC Info: Dell XPS M 1210
OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 SP 3
Genuine Intel CPU T2400 @1.83 GHz, 0.99 GB RAM
Currently, the program "Intel PROSet Wireless" starts up along with windows. The program is of no use to me, so I tried uninstalling it multiple times, however, whenever I do, it gets stuck on the first step (ive literally had it on that step for 3 hours!) until I start getting errors that "Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low." Note that even if I don't try to uninstall this program, I can't find a way to close the program and I do eventually get the same error for seemingly no reason. When I asked my mom about the program, she confirmed that it had come with her computer and was used to connect to the internet, so I don't believe the program is meant to function this way.
As a final note, my mom did use this computer literally for more than a year without any form of anti-virus or anti-malware (even after I downloaded avast! she refused to update it or take time to run it), though I have run both Avast! and Malwarebytes and found nothing on the computer (though I did not try running either from safe mode).
Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Hard Drive has 49.8 GB free of a total of 73.1 GB. The hard disk also has "Compress drive to save disk space" and "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching" enabled, though Ive never toyed with those settings so i'm unsure what they do.
Downloaded and ran CCleaner, seemed to go fine.
Winhelp link appears to be truncated resulting in a bad link, it literally has ellipses in the link.
Oh forgot to write down the service tag: I'll edit this post with it later, right now I'm in my bedroom which I share with my brother and he's asleep, so I can't use the light (and the laptops battery has been dead for months, so I can't bring it out of the room).

Defragging now, shouldn't take long but I'll be clicking defrage then going to bed, so I wont be back for awhile.

    @Goldenskull
I have all the logs generated from everything that ran properly, which was mostly everything, attached. Rogue Killer identified a possible threat in an AIM file (which I didn;t download AIM until after getting the boot file fixed, so that shouldnt be the problem's source). Malwarebytes worked just like it had last time I ran it, finding nothing. TDSS Killer found nothing at all, and wouldnt even give me a log for my trouble. Hitman Pro found some potential stuff to get rid of (I noticed it found some Ask Toolbar files, and Ive "successfully" uninstalled that program about 5 times now, so I was going to ask If i should just delete those) so I attached that log. MGtools started fine, and I went to read a website while it ran. Partway through that site, my computer displayed an error that was completely blank (damn now that I think of it, i should have taken a screenshot). The error looked like this picture, but with only one button at the bottom instead of 3: http://images.uncyc.org/commons/0/0f/Error_blank.png
I clicked the button and another error popped up that read "Message from website: out of memory at line 7". I received similar messages as i tried to continue scrolling on the website, and i continued clicking the only option of "OK." Soon I noticed that MGTools had simply disappeared, and the computer seemed to simply be slowing to a stop, so I was forced to reboot.
So it does seem like I'm still having problems after all that. :-\

Since you now have installed CCleaner, go to Tools | Startup; this will allow you to disable unneeded startup programs. You can save the contents to a txt file and attach it to your next post; someone can tell you which items you can safely disable.

Regarding "Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low": you need to increase the size of your Pagefile. How: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...vancd_perform_change_vmpagefile.mspx?mfr=true

If you are unsure what to set it to, post its current value, and someone will advise you what to set it to. (By default Windows sets it to 1.5 x RAM size, which is probably not enough in your case.)

    Text file is attached.
I was unsure what to set the paging file value to, but its currently set to 1524 MB, which is certainly close to 1.5 times the amount of RAM I have.
Also, what info from the service tag is needed by you guys? I'm unsure which parts of it are relevant to anything...
