Slow computer

    Ran malware removal as instructed. Computer is very slow & now we're getting a SVCHOST error - "Sorry Jpeg dll not found. You must reinstall this program."

    The only part of malware removal I couldn't run is Spybot S&D - it starts to set up, then the whole program shuts down.

    We need the log from SUPERAntispyware that was requested. It appears that you did not even install it and it was the first scan you were supposed to run. Please run it now and attach the log.


    Please explain what operations are slow! For example answer the below:
    • Is boot up slow?
    • Is shutdown slow?
    • Is browsing/surfing slow?
    • Is downloading slow?
    • Is running any application?
    • Is it also slow in safe boot mode?
    • Also are any process showing in Task Manager to be using a lot of CPU time?
    • Anything else slow?

    It wouldn't let me download SuperAntispyware either - it would get a few screens into it & then disappear, like it did with Spybot.

    I have the laptop with me here at work, I'm going to see what our support department can do with it.

    Okay that's your decision. Your main problem may just be the below startup entry:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Sound Card Driver] C:\Program Files\MOLLY-VUIWY6GQZ\svchost.exe

    And possibly the below file:
