SLOW computer

I have reloaded my PC twice in the last 8 months, so I am either re-installing the program that is causing the problem, going to a web site that is causing the problem, or it is hardware, but I don't think it is hardware because it runs well after a reload for a little while.

computer specs Dell windows XP pro SP2 Celeron 2.6GHz 516MB

It usually starts out running ok until I open an office document (usually Word), but the last 2 days it is slow to do anything!!! I click on an icon and there is a 3 to 10 second delay.

Here is a hijack log. I tried to read all the "read and do this" steps, but if I forgot to do something please tell me and I will try it also.

I went in and set the msconfig to normal start-up - so it is going to look like I have a lot of things on start-up, but I do know enough (to be dangerous probably) but I usually don't have a lot of those programs run automatically - just an FYI

    Thanks in advance!!!

Do not copy and past logs into your posts; always include them as attachments.

Your log give no indication that you completed our standard cleaning procedures before posting your log.

READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Anyway, your log shows no signs of an infection. I would uninstall FreeRAM XP Pro; you really don't need it and Windows XP does a very good job of managing system resources.

Your problem could be with Norton or Netware; maybe both.

I ended up getting a hardware error yesterday, and when I unplugged my slaved hard drive (used for backups) I have had no problems since. I don't know why it has taken months to get an error, but I am glad it finally happened.

    Thanks for the help

    :)
