Slow Laptop/factory Reset

Hope I have posted this in the right place but I have a Median Akoya E7221 laptop that is running very slow as it is old. Would a factory reset be the best option if I back up my data? I have windows 10 now which I got a few years ago when they were offering a free upgrade. I am worried that if I do a reset then it will revert back to an older version of Windows. Is I do a reset that keeps files and settings will it keep windows 10? Is there a better way to go about it not very tech savvy

 

Do it through Windows and you'll be fine. It will reset to a clean install of Windows 10.
