I have gone through all of the Malware steps in the Malware Removal forum and have been advised to move the conversation over here.
I've attached a copy of the tasklist list of processes, it shows the process ID number, the process ID number
of the parent process if there is one and the command line that launched the
    process.
If someone could take a look at this I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks.

There is another alternative aswell, you could click on this link http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106650 and follow some basic PC cleaning
Also have you tried openiing your command prompt as Admin then type in it
    ipconfig /flushdns
notice the space between the two words before the forward slash !

    Rusty,
Yup. Already did everything on that page. Still terribly slow.
    Just ran the ipconfig /flushdns.

Hopefully this will help with you getting a better understanding of what happened.

Last week I did the recommended Windows Update and after doing so I got a blue screen. I tried several re-boots, in safe mode and normal mode as well, but still got the blue screen.

Thankfully I had set a new restore point only a few days prior to that and had to restore. Since then I'm running super slow.

    Thanks,
    GVG

I noticed viewpoint.exe in your process list. Viewpoint can be a source of problems. I'm not saying viewpoint is the source of your lag, but it should really be removed from your machine. Removing viewpoint is part of step 3 in READ AND RUN ME FIRST.
Also, http://www.processlibrary.com/ can help you identify processes that are unnecessary and I use it regularly when cleaning people's machines to free up memory.
You can use msconfig>services and uncheck unnecessary processes. Sometimes it can make a big difference, although I'd rather you take other advice from some of the more experienced MG folks, this is one of the first things I would try .
Is EVERYTHING running slow or just Internet ?

Download WinPatrol to control the startup items.

    Remove Uniblue Registry Booster

I've heard Bonjour can slow things down (I have no experience with iTunes/Bonjour personally - refuse to install it)

    Turn off Google Crash Handler

    Turn off searchindexer.exe

MGtools.exe is no longer needed to run at startup.
