I followed all the steps 1-6 and ran everything except Bitdefender. I requested the copy and it never came in my e-mail. The PC is running extremely slow. I ran Hijackthis and have not made any changes because I'm afraid to to delete the wrong thing. This is a good family friends computer and I somehow got stuck fixing theirs so I don't want to mess this up. Here are my logs. PandaScan didn't detect anything at all.

    It's a Celeron 2.7
    512MB RAM SDRAM 2700
    Built in Graphics
1 HD but with 2 partitions. 1 partition roughly 5.5GB and the other is 32GB. The second partition is roughly half full
    Windows XP SP2

I would appreciate some insight.Thank you

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

You are not supposed to be trying to get something in the email related to Bitdefender. You are just supposed to run the online scan as instructed in the READ ME.

Also HijackThis logs must be obtained from normal boot mode as requested in the READ ME.

Step 0 of the read me instructs you to uninstall the below two items which you did not do:
    Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only)
    Viewpoint Media Player

Uninstall them now and while in Add/Remove programs, see the below steps too.

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.1_02
    Mozilla Firefox (1.5)
Sunbelt CounterSpy <--- uninstall this if it is the free version from the READ ME

Now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

Then install the current version of FireFox from: Mozilla Firefox

    • Now run Bitdefender ONLINE scan and attach the log.
    • Then get a new log from ShowNew
    • Then get a new HJT log from Normal Boot mode.

My apologies for not being thorough enough with the instructions. I appreciate you continuing to help me regardless. Here are the updated logs. Thanks again

I feel for some reason the new ones didn't post. Please let me know if that is the case

Here is the new bitdefender and the new hijackthis log.. The newfiles log from earlier is apparently the same (even though I ran a new scan after everything that I was told to do) and won't let me post it again so I'm assuming it is the same exact file. Thanks guys. Hope to hear back from you guys soon.

It cannot be the same if you uninstalled the items I asked you to uninstall. In addition, running a new scan would change the file anyway because the date and time would change. Please run a new scan and attach a new log.
