slow pc

i have mcAfee security and its making my pc slow, is there any way i can delete it and find another program for security.

yea i know thanks for the help this is a really cool site. i freed up alot of programs on my control panal it tweaked it a bit.

McAfee is a true resource hog; I've seen it slow down some pretty powerful PCs. A full install of the McAfee Security Center (or whatever they call it) will install about 14 different applications that run constantly in the background. Not only do they resources just running, many of these McAfee components also run constant scans in real-time scanning web links and files and cookies and the like which also will cause major PC slow down....
