Slow start up with xp

    Hi


    I have a problem when i turn on my pc it shows the start up screen (below)

    for around 2 minutes. It normally is only on for about 5 seconds. i have gone on to the recovery console and done a fixboot which it says it has done (this has worked before) but it isnt working and i really dont know what to do.

    If anyone could help i would be extremely greatful.

    Hi Tom and Welcome to Majorgeeks

    If you hit Tab to show the Post screen, which lists the boot steps your PC is taking, does it hang or slow at a certain point... if so what?

    Also unlook all USB items, apart from USB keyboard and Mouse and try, especially if you have installed a new USB hardware item.

    Did you install or update anything before this happened?

    Can you boot into Safe Mode ok and quickly?

    Thanks alot for the help. I had my bloody IPod plugged in and thats what did it! Funny i have never noticed that happening before.
