This post follows up the suggestion I received at my Malware post at

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1830091&posted=1#post1830091

On July 21st, I downloaded some free software. Spybot search and destroy then found 4 to 5 malicious toolbars installed. I tried to delete them (not using Major Geek's procedure), including running AdwCleaner. I also deleted some start up items, thinking they were part of the problem.

The malware problem is fixed, but my start up takes much longer, so I probably messed up my start up as well. I'm able to start up, but it is not as it was before the July 21st incident.

Also, when I select Windows Help and Support from the start Icon, I receive a "Windows Help and Support can't start" reply. It may be related to my removal of start up items.

Please provide suggestions on fixing the above. Thanks!
