Slow xp boot

    When windows boots i get the taskbar first and the rest of the desktop about 5 mins later ! If i pull the dsl cable out the computer boots normaly, is there a nic setting somewhere to fix this. thanks ..................:nef:

    Do you have network booting option disabled in BIOS?
    Is this a recent occurance?

    Can't find any referance to networking in the bios . This started six weeks ago when i swapped out my epox board (leaking caps) for a new shiney DFI board

    Does the board have built in LAN or are you using a PCI card? Or USB?

    It does have onboard LAN but i am using a realtec Nic now to see if it would fix the problem I it did'nt) lol
