I have a slight problem with a ibm r41 laptop on the company network... (actualy its just the one the rest is fine) running xp pro sp2.. its a d-link wireless network with a Fedora core 3 samba server with a HP laserjet...
when i add the printer to the ibm laptop it takes ages to do enything.... even word is acting silly.. the rest of the network is made up of a sweet mix of win2k and 98se (one 98 left and wont last long)
Any tweeks ore tips on how to speed things up..

Sounds like you have files in the print spooler. Try this:

go to start>control panel>administrative tools>services> double click print spooler> click on stop. Leave this open once you stop it. Now

go to my computer>C drive>windows folder >system32 folder> spool folder>printers folder. delete anything in the printers folder. CLose this out and go back to your stopped print spoller and click on start. Close all of your windows.

    Post back
