This XP was on same network with my Vista. Vista has been cleaned and now I want to have these XP logs checked as it has been running slowly, also. (Hope I got it right, I've had to work on this hit-and-miss and I'm exhausted.) Thank you. Now I need some :zzz

    Hello, pjubber

Only a couple of things to do...

Note: Ad-Aware however is not an effective program anymore. The SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes porgrams you downloaded while running the READ & RUN ME are much more effective than Ad-Aware.

    Step 1:
Also noting - you're using an outdated version of SUPERAntiSpyware. Uninstall SAS > run CCleaner > download and update the latest version. Also - update MBAM.

    Step 2:
Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Step 3:
    Run Ccleaner

    Step 4:
    Run both SAS & MBAM

    Step 5:
Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Then attach the below logs to your next reply:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
    • SASlog.txt
    • MBAM log

Make sure you tell me if you had any problems running this procedure and give a description of how things are working now!

Hello Dr. Moriarty, Thank you for your time. Yes, this notebook is rather outdated; I just hang on to it in case the newer one gives me trouble. Anyway, the scans look good. Thanks so much! :major
