Slower Computer And No Internet Except When In Safe Mode With Networking

I have a toshiba satellite L55-B5133 laptop with windows 10. Over the past week, it has become noticeably slower. In the last two days I have had problems accessing the internet - despite the fact that other devices have no problem accessing the router. Right now the only way that I can access the internet on the computer is through safe mode with networking. The problems seemed to coincide with updates to commodo and another spyware item I had on the computer. I tried removing these items and it seemed to help with internet access and now it does not work at all.

TimW (thank you!) has looked at my logs this morning (I went through the malware process) and I seem to be free of malware.

The wifi works in safe mode with networking but not in regular mode which I believe suggests it's not a hardware issue.

    Suggestions on how to proceed?

Further to your Specialist Malware thread, have you already uninstalled Comodo completely using a program like Revo Uninstaller Free version as suggested by TimW?
If you haven't yet done that, do it now and in Revo as you go through the steps choose the advanced mode of scanning for left over entries. Then fully restart your system and see whether it connects again in normal start mode.
If that doesn't work, then in Safe Mode with Networking open an administrator Command Prompt and run the System File Checker:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...er-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system
Please follow that SFC guide carefully and accurately, and when the scan is 100% complete follow that guides section titled
'How to view details of the System File Checker process'.
Then restart your system and try again in normal mode.

Thanks Max! I kind of went nuclear on it decided to reset my computer (but keeping personal files) . . . as a result the internet is still problematic (some of what is left seems kind of random) so I am going to do a full reset once I double check that everything I want is backed up.

Are there recommendations to set up a "new computer" since that is where I will be soon??

    Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback everyone. Unfortunately I had already started the full reset. Even with the full reset, I am having problems with the wifi on this device. Does this suggest that it may be a hardware problem (with the wifi) after all?

At this point, I am going to set up a new computer. Any suggestions on how to do so?

Check if there's a new driver for the Wi-Fi (if you haven't done so).

Thanks Eldon! I probably should have checked that much earlier in the process. I was under a timeline :( I appreciate all of your guidance everyone!
