Hello, Newbie Geek here with a question. I have an old Maxtor HD that no longer functions. It spins up, but just makes a clicking sound afterwards (then the clicking stops). I ran a program from Maxtors' site called "powermax" and a "smart enable malfunction" came up during the test. What does this mean? And....

Is there anyway to save the HD?

    Thanks!

clicking and stoping means head crash. The drive is all done.
