SmartFix or something else?

I installed Smartfix yesterday, 21 Jan, on my computer to give it a try. When I log in, it's through a Novell network and having a choice of two domains, through a network domain (user account xxxxx; normal account) or through my local pc domain (account xxxxx.001). When I started up my computer, this morning, 22 Jan. I noticed that the choice to the network domain was removed leaving the local pc domain. So now I don't have "direct" access to the documents and settings to my normal account. I need to know if the options in the Smartfix would have any impact on what happened here. I've uninstalled the program and restarted but to no avail the local pc domain is only showing. I'm going to try to re-install and uncheck everything and see if that works (?).

I sent an e-mail to the folks at SmartAlec2000 and waiting to hear from them. I'm asking here to see if anyone has used this without any kind of problems. Would any of you know if what's happened is mutually exclusive or coincidental in the timing? I'm also waiting for someone to come by and look at this as well.

    here's what I've enabled (attached)

    Hi ken
Like you i installed Smart fix yesterday. However it has not changed anything from what was already ticked by any other software that i have. I have used this product in the past and it has always proved to be reliable so i am at a loss as to what has gone wrong. Hopefully another member will come to your rescue

This comment won't help, but I am leary of a program that simply says Improve Windows and Internet Explorer stability.

I would highly suggest reinstalling the Netware client. It does hook into your IP stack. so your utility could have removed it.

Rule #1: Never let anything mess with your network configuration. ;)

    WORD.

Is it my imagination, or is every "fix catagory" on that program, something thats already been addressed by Windows Update??

Well, I getting things straightened out. Apparently the NetworkDomain/xxxxxx user profile got removed, but the LocalPCName/xxxxxx remained. An IT guy came by and inserted the path of my xxxxx profile to LocalPCName/xxxxxx user profile (username folder xxxxx.001) so now I'm operating under xxxxx.001 instead of xxxxx. Just need to catch up and get things straightend out. Thanks :)

I thought about doing that as well, but I'm not the savvy about this area and didn't want to take a chance.
