Smartkiller

    I downloaded delcwssk smartkiller ... unzipped it .... clicked to open it and a box comes up and says it isn't here.... I've deleted and re-installed and it keeps doing the same thing. I have run search and destroy and it hangs up for hours when CoolWWWSearch start to be scanned . I have tried everything I know to get rig of CoolWWWSearch .... can someone here please help me out ........:eek: Thank You ..... Old Hippie

    Welcome to MGs!

    Are you referring to this tool CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller (v1/v2) MiniRemoval that is the proper name of the program.

    If so, there is nothing wrong. It is telling you (not so clearly) that there is no infection.

    Spybot does talk a long time to get thru that area. That's because there are close to 200 type of CWS infections and it is scanning all your files for CWS infections and has to repeat it 200 times. Blame the malware creators for that.

    Thank you for the Welcome ....:) Sorry I didn't explain it right ......... When I click on the icon to launch CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller (v1/v2) MiniRemoval a box immediately pops up stating that the program is not on my computer. I ran Spybot for 24 hours straight and it never got past CoolWWWSearch.Feat2DLL ...... I don't know what to do next .....:(

    So what your saying is that Spybot is scanning for CoolWWWSearch DLL's and there isn't any on my machine. The CoolWWWSearch DLL's that show up in the running-bot check window is just definitions ???????:confused:

    Well sort of! I'm not saying you do not have any CWS.

    But if you assumed you had them because of what Spybot shows at the bottom of its window, that is incorrect. That is just showing what Spybot is currently looking for and as stated it takes a very long time to go thru all the variations of CWS.

    Also CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller (v1/v2) MiniRemoval was just telling you the form it looks for was not found. The message it gives is just not that clear.
