SMT Special New Years Thread.

I just want to take a little time here to make a post.

We are ending yet another year, and starting a new one. We have reflected on our personal goals, achievements and failure. I don't know how many of us have actually thought about the men and woman who have made it possible. This year, like many others, we have had war times and good people put their lives on the line to serve their country in what they feel to be a worthy cause. Our freedom and liberty is one of the causes they join and serve for. There has been many wars. I am grateful for each and every person who served for me to have the life I have now.

I know this is not my usual post, but this post was inspired by a few people and one very special man whom I hope to keep in my life. Some of those people are known here, but have not been in for a while. Those members also served for our rights. If only to the war Vets. that are and were members of MG, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for my new year.

Happy New Year to you too SMT. And to all those that make celebrating it possible, both personally and nationally. Most certainly the soldiers, sailors, and airmen that stand ready, in war and in peace, are most worthy of our thanks.

 

my 2 sons served in iraq and one of them is returning soon thank you SMT for your kind thoughts and words. your prayers would be appreciated. (oh if i go bonkers in the new year you will know why )

to all our vets, and their families... THANK YOU!

 

Thank you Glo. I know why you made this thread, and I couldn't have said it better, myself.

To those that carried the burden for a cause they never new. Did their duty for a nation that knew nothing and cared less. And took the shame and guilt that was never theirs. And got paid in scars both seen and unseen.

We shall never forget...

Well said, Glo! My brother is in the Air Force and two cousins are currently serving in the Navy (as well as others in my family who have served in other branches over the past decades and wars).

You can all have opinions about war and present and past presidents, but that doesn't matter in REAL TIME. REAL people have to follow orders and go where they are sent to do what has to be done and they are indeed heroes!

Well said, everyone~ there is nothing more honorable than the willingness to put oneself in harm's way for one's countrymen. We can't thank you enough for that.

 

It's almost a new year here and I'm looking forward to seeing what will come.
