Hi, I have SnagIt on my pc but it is not working right, so I want to Uninstall it. but I cannot find it in the Add/remove, or Regedit, or Programs files. I thought I could use ReVo uninstaller but it is not in there either, How can I remove it when I cannot find it anywhere, any suggestions, Thanks

Uninstallers will look for apps in one of two program folders. Maybe you installed it somewhere else. I would do an overall search. And I highly recommend using 'Everything' app to do the search.

If found, look for the app's uninstall file and uninstall from there.

Do you have God Mode on your PC?

Not working 'right'? So what exactly happens when you click on the app's icon shortcut? Right click on that shortcut and see which directory/file it points to. Shortcut should give you the clues. Maybe you have already uninstalled it sometime before??

Yes I have God mode also when I click on the icon on taskbar it only gives me the option to open snagit or to remove from the taskbar!!
ps its been awhile but If i did uninstall it why would it still work to a certain point?

Can you answer my earlier question: so what happens when you click the icon? If the app runs, then your app is still there. If it doesn't at all, then you no longer have the app. Either way, right click the icon and read which directory it's pointing to. Go there and see if the directory (and app files) are still there. Meaning -- you have found them -- and you can try to uninstall -- or failing that, simply just delete whatever residual files are still there. If no files, then you very likely deleted them sometime earlier - intentionally or not.

Look for TechSmith in both Program Files folders.

ok when I click on the icon in the taskbar it only gives two options open or delete from taskbar. when I open it I get the option to snag a new picture etc. but I do not get the Dashboard, I can still use it but I want to get rid of it, I searched all over for tech schmith and it is not in the registry or program files or any where. I cannot delete it if I cannot find it? Thanks
PS if I cannot get the Dashboard to come up then I cannot change where the .jpg should be sent!

Why don't you just delete the icon from the Taskbar?

Frustrating. You did 'everything' but answer my very simple question: exactly which directory/file is your icon shortcut pointing to? Follow with your Windows explorer and see what file(s) remain in that directory. Uninstall or delete as appropriate.

You keep repeating that you can't find the program. Obviously, your shortcut icon is pointing at the program if it's actually opening that program!

[Edit to add]: Some apps like to install themselves in "C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\..." or "C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\...". Double check to make sure Windows didn't have those directories "hidden".

quote>> You keep repeating that you can't find the program. Obviously, your shortcut icon is pointing at the program if it's actually opening that program!<<<<<<<

which it was that easy, like I mentioned when I click on the Snagit icon on taskar it opens only to the screen that asks you if it is New etc. It does not direct me to any file!

I don't want to just delete the Icon I want it off the pc.

BTW I looked into the quote>>> [Edit to add]: Some apps like to install themselves in "C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\..." or "C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\..."

Did not find it in any folder!!!

There has got to be a way to find this? Is there a Tool that will search out every thing on the laptop? I thought Revo Uninstaller would have it for sure but no?

PS, Yes I spelt it correctly, Thanks

Did you RIGHT CLICK on the shortcut icon itself -- then on the popup, RIGHT CLICK again on the app's name - and then choose (left click) "Properties"? You will find exactly the directory and file name that shortcut icon is pointing to.

Yes and No That did not work as I mentioned when I right clicked on the icon it just brought up the window to perform the capture!

PS Btw, why do I not get email Notifications on replies?

Do you know how to display the "Properties" of a shortcut?
