Sneaky Popups

I'm having a problem with some nasty little popup bot that just doesn't want to die. The popups first showed up a day or two ago and started saying Zedo at the top (though none of them do anymore). I looked up Zedo removal and tried the most common fix (as outlined here: http://zedosucks.com) but it didn't work. I never had the core.sys file, but I still have the core.cache.disk in my System32 folder. I've tried everything I can to delete it (safe mode, killbox, anti-spyware) but even if it is deleted, it comes right back on reboot. I've done everything in the READ & RUN ME FIRST thread, and am running on XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Copy and paste the following text in the Quote box below into Notepad.
Click on File(in the menu at the top)>Save as../Save as Type: 'All Files' /File name: fix.bat to your desktop.
Then double click on the fix.bat file on your desktop
    You'll see a black screen flash,thats normal.
    Restart your pc.

Again: Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Next, run HJT (C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it), but instead of scanning, click on the None of the above, just start the program button at the bottom of the choices.
    * At the lower right, click on the Config button
    * Then click the Misc tools button
    * Select Delete an NT Service
    * Copy/paste perfmons into the box that opens, and press OK
    * If you receive any error messages just ignore them.
Now do the same for Routing

    [/quote]

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    * Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:

    * Now click the 'Done' button.
    * Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    * You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

    Reboot and install:
    Sun Java Runtime Environment

    Now find and delete:
