So excited!- Official release day for my game

    Back in 2000, I played a game called The Longest Journey. It's an incredible adventure game and maybe my favorite. 6 years later, Dreamfall came out.

    I guess these games are expensive to create and the adventure market isn't as profitable as it used to be so it was questionable whether another would be able to be made.

    But now, I just saw that after 8 years, the official release day is in just a few weeks (Oct. 21st). http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/09/30/dreamfall-chapters-book-one-release-date-announced

    What I find the most interesting thing and very cool is that they started a campaign on Kickstarter-Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey and were looking for an $850,000 pledge and raised $1.5 Million. I love the idea that basically you are just committing upfront to buy the game. I'm sure there are many that fail, but in the declining market of adventure games, I'm glad this avenue is out there.

    Oh I thought went I had read the title Laura you had programmed a game as I was going to say "you sneaky snorkel" for hiding that!

    I do like adventure games, the ones with puzzles along the way, Riven was a fav of mine., I will have to check this one lout cheers.

    LOL Oops...I didn't even think of the fact that my title would read like that.

    They are good games and like Riven, but I like the story line better.

    I love Kickstarter though, that's a great thing for people.

    I thought the same thing, lol

    I like games like that also . . . never played Dreamfall, but I have heard of it. I'll have to check it out.

    Yeah, Riven had some awesome graphics and puzzles in it as did the 'Myst' series, before them, (Riven series).
    I am looking forward to Dreamfall too, Laura - so let's hope it'e as good, or better than its predecessors. :cool Now I need a few months spare to play it. .rolleyes

    That's exactly what I thought. :-D

    Grats on being excited about your new game! I've been playing wow for 10 years and I'm getting kinda sick of it. I also bash demons in their face in Diablo, but I might look into this one as something new to try. Thanks! :)

    Laura, you may wish to take a look at The Walking Dead... the game, not the show or comic. Fair warning: It gets emotional.

    If you're really into these kinds of adventure games, there are a lot of them out there, if you go into the indie market. GOG.com has a large selection, as does Desura (who are kind of the Steam of indie PC games, but better). :)

    What level are you at on D3? I have a paragon 119 monk that is pretty good if you ever want to go demon face bashing. :cool

    Well, my p-levels aren't as high :(

    Because I have 71p Seasonal, 6 lvl 70 71p Regulars, and a 80p HC with like one of each at 40+ HC

    I may have a problem...

    But I haven't had much time for them, I have 8 lvl 90s, am bringing up a DK, Raid leading, and Guild Mastering a 900+ man guild. It's like a full time frealing job, but I'd love to make time for you some night!

    Fred, Here you go :)

    1. Click On the "Friends" Button (Or hit O on your keyboard)
    2. Click the "Add friends" Button at the bottom of the window
    3. Add in my battletag - thenadalady#1762
    4. Click Send Request, and Wait. When I get it, I can add you as a friend and you can reach me to send me a message in any Blizzard Game, so you can message me in WoW from Diablo.
    5. When it's all done, my name will appear in this list, you right click on it and send message when you need me :)

    Tada! Tuesday and Thursday nights from 8-11p don't message me, it's raid night and I wont be able to focus on anything, but any other time is fine :)

    I'm replaying 'The Longest Journey'. Since it's been 14 years, I actually don't remember all of it. Damn dr... er, I mean age. LOL ;)


    hehe....I'm just happy I'm an admin so no one can change my title without me being able to do something about it. :-D

    Hahaha! I'm not sure you'd like an adventure game if you are into WOW and bashing Demons in Diablo, Wenchie. I'd think it would be a little tame and boring for you. LOL

    I love the series 'The Walking Dead'. I think someone had talked about it on here before...maybe you or Rikky. I looked into it, but I'm not good with action stuff like fighting. I couldn't even really play Tomb Raider because of that.

    I have gotten stuff on Gog.com on your recommendation though. :) I'll check out Desura. Thanks Mims! (good to see you around too, stranger ;))



    On a sidenote, I'd change the title of my thread since it was kind of misleading, but at this point it would make everyone's posts irrelevant. LOL

    I suck at that too ;)

    It's by Telltale Games, the geniuses behind Monkey Island, and the game play is similar. Some sequences have very quick twitch/reflex demands, but the timing and accuracy are very forgiving. It's episodic, and the first episode of the first season is free on most Android devices. If you like it there you can buy it for PC. :)

    I have played it on both platforms and prefer the mouse to the touch screen though.
