after a little over 5 weeks in NY. It was really tough saying goodbye to my dad at the airport. I felt like I was letting him down by going even though I know I accomplished a great deal while I was there.

Losing my mom was pretty much unbearable but in a way a relief because she was suffering so much and for so long. My faith tells me she is in a better place but knowing that as long as I remain on this earth I won't be able to hug her, tell her I love her or see her smile again with those lights dancing in her pretty blue eyes is tough. All I can do is treasure the memories I have in my heart and mind, many of which still make me lol.

There was the time my Dr. suggested I drink a glass of wine before bed so that I would sleep better and her and dad sat and drank ALL of the wine I bought with me! OMG, I had seen my mother drunk before (we all were) but this was beyond hysterical. I was upstairs with her trying to help her get from the bathroom to bed (she was crawling) and she went from crawling to on her belly (I swear it was in slow motion!!!!) to the floor. She carried 2 scars with her for the rest of her life...brush burn scars no less! LMAO Whenever we talked about that night she would just crack up laughing, as we all did...to the point of tears. roflmao

The tender, loving memories I will treasure privately, and there are so, so many of them. But the wine night will continue to make me laugh forever!:-D

It's good to be home even though Hanna & Ike are making their presence known. Chris couldn't pick me up at the airport yesterday due to preparations for the storms at The Cape so our good friend Deborah picked me up and took me out to lunch. Chris and I are going out to dinner tonight with Deborah and Kieth and then plan to just chill out for the rest of the weekend.:)

Thank you all for your support during this most difficult time. The comments in the guest books from MG members along with the PM's and emails meant more than I can say to not on me, but my family. You are all so special and your kindness in reaching out to me will never be forgotten! Hugs!

It's good to see you back at the MG-home too AbbySue :) Losing a parent is incredibly hard, and distance adds yet another factor that leaves us feeling torn. It sounds like Chris, family and your friends are being marvellous as always and taking great care of you. Just what you need to come home to though - a hurricane huh! Been watching the weather closely and thinking of you guys. Been a tough few weeks but I know those loving and humurous memories will carry you through the tougher days.

    *Hugs*

Great to see you back, girl. Over time, things will mellow out and settle down. You'll find that little things that happen every few days, one or two will tweak a memory of her and you'll enjoy reliving the great times you had.

    Hugs

    Welcome back T

Did you bring your wellies for your return to Floridawet!

I can imagine that it was heart wrenching to leave Max at the airport, but really glad you achived all you needed to do at this VERY sad time, I do hope Max and the Bros are well and coping ok?

Memories are great and you sound like you have some corkers to remember, she sounded from what you have told me to be an awsome woman/wife/mother & friend.

I think Chris is building an ARK in that hanger at KSC judging by the rain you folks are having of late, BTW thanks we seem to be getting the tail end of some of it here :p

Good to have you back :)

It is indeed good to see you back with us, A.S.:)

When parents eventually go, it is always like something inside of us dies, too. But then again the memories and the makeup of what we are s forever. Hope you are coping okay, with both the grieving and all the other medical issues. Trust Max and the rest of the family are bearing up as well.

Guess it's great for the both of you to be back together again. Hope you manage to avoid the worst of the bad weather there in Fl.

Take care, and blessings always. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone! :) I'm at a loss for words to truly express to all of you that have reached out to me, even in the smallest way. Y'all are awesome!

BTW...I'll be heading out of town again this Wednesday. Going back to Ormond Beach to resume the vacation I was on when my mom took ill. I'm looking forward to more than a little R & R and a few cocktails to celebrate my moms life.

I am so glad to hear you are home safe and sound. But, leaving again on a very much needed vacation. Enjoy, celebrate, remember, and take care.

PS. I haven't been on much lately with starting full-time online school at my age...lol

Thanks gal!:) Don't know what you're talking about with the 'at my age' comment....last I knew you weren't a centenarian!:-D I hope you are proud of yourself cuz you should be....many who have pretty much raised their children wouldn't have the courage to do what you're doing...you go girl!:cool

    No thanks necessary...you deserve it!:)

When I went back to school I felt awkward at first cuz I was the 'old' one in my classes but the yunguns actually drew me in by seeking my opinions and ideas. It was pretty cool.:cool

You're only as old as you feel err think? I know some days for all of us it's beyond centenarian and others we look around wondering why we aren't still in HS or when the heck did our kids grow up? :eek LOL
