So, my BD-Rom won't play Blu Ray; but it will rip/burn BDs and play DVDs just fine...

    ...so what gives?

    Oh, also; it used to play Blu Ray discs just fine. But I reinstalled the OS about a month back and since then it just won't play the discs. My only guess was to update the driver; but it says it's all set.

    So, I'm lost...

    You have to install the correct codec. A good one is K-lite Codec pack full.

    Hmm. Well, I did download K-Lite. But nothing changed. Any settings to adjust?

    I'm stumped. Sure sounded like you needed codecs to me.

    What kinda CD rom Drive is it.???

    I would Recommend CCCP Not K light.Have not had a issues with this Codec Pack.

    Oh, I have Windows 7. I had Windows 7 back when I could play Blu-Rays just fine, too. I just re-installed the OS after having an unrelated issue.

    Windows Media Player and VLC will not play Blu ray disks because they do not include the proper codes. Blu ray is Sony proprietary encoding.
    What program came with the computer? (Something like CyberPower?) Have you re-installed the program?

    Hmmm. Media Player Classic and VLC were all I ever used....

    You had to have another program to be able to play Blu Ray disks.

    Wow, that's so strange....

    So, all I need is Power DVD; then problem solved? If so, any freeware solutions?

    CCCP codec pack should all so fix that issue it says it can play Blue ray use that link i gave you.
