So, pretty positive that my computer is eating itself.

Okay, so I've run Avast scans and whatnot, trying to get rid of the alerts that keep popping up and telling me that my system's infected, nothing's working because I'm almost positive that they're system files.

So, I downloaded MGtools and ran the scans and I'm not sure what's going one because I'm not an expert in this sort of stuff. Can anyone give me a hand?

And here are the SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebyte' Anti-Malware logs.

I could not get ComboFix to run on my computer, it continues to say that the file I downloaded was corrupted and says that I might have a file patching virus (Virut) so I don't know what else to do honestly.

Okay, over the past two days I have tried again, and again to get Combofix to work on my computer and as it's not working I am assuming the problem is worse than I thought. Is there anything that anyone can tell me without the Combofix logs?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Sorry to have to give you the bad news, but I can see the reason for your problems and also why ComboFix would not run (yes the Virut infection). Your logs show that your Windows Operating system files have become infected and there is no known reliable fix for this. In addition there are many many other infected files. We could spend a lot of time trying to remove this infection, but odds are that it will not work because the nature of the infection has so many executable system files infected that as soon as we fix one file, other files that are infected will almost immediately or upon the next reboot, just reinfect the files. In addition, your PC would still basically be unreliable/untrustworthy even if we manage to fix the infected files that we can see since there could be many more that we are not seeing.

The safest thing for you to do is backup your personal data immediately since your PC could possible become unbootable at any point in time. Do not back up any executable files. This includes programs that you have downloaded since any of them could be infected.

Once you backup, you need format your hard disk and reinstall Windows. You must not reinstall any programs (executable files) from backups made on this infected PC since they are most likely infected.

Awesome, I figured that was the case. Thing is, I can make a back-up of all my personal stuff and whatnot but the issue is that I'm clueless as to how I would go about reinstalling windows considering the fact that I'm using Windows XP SP2 and don't have a windows disk. I've moved a few times in the past nine or ten years and a lot of computer things go lost in the transition.

Sorry I cannot help you with this. You will have to purchase a new copy or speak to Microsoft about it. People in the Software Forum may have some additional info for you on this. You may be able to extract your Product Key from your hard disk and use it when you speak to Microsoft. If you have a legit license, you may be able to purchase a disk for a lower price then buying an all new copy.
