So Slow!! is it the Board or the HDD?

    Hi Guys,

    I have a CPU w/ ECS k7ama board, athlon 1800 xp and 40GB HDD. A week ago, I'd noticed my pc kept on crashing/freezing while booting up or even at the desktop. I cleared the cmos, format the HDD but when I installed the OS, winxp or win98, I noticed the process was so slow.. in win 98, the minutes of installation goes up to 171 minutes!! when it's should be within 30-60 min. very unusual!! what do you think is the problem?

    BTW, just registered here and would like to say WELCOME to ME!!! LOL

    are you still getting the crashes?
