    Hi guys!
I've just bought a new cooler for my C2D (s775), and i want to remove the old one and put it on my overheating P4(s478). Can I do that? Will my PC go boom?
And about the power... The C2D fan has a 4-pin power connector, ant the P4 MOBO has a 3-pin power connector... will it spin?

I'm sure there are 3 to 4 pin adaptors and vice versa, just gotta find them. And if they exist then it's highly unlikely your pc will go "boom" :D

Yes- you can totally use the s775 heatsink/fan on the s478 chip, but mounting it may be a bit tricky. Some heatsink kits come with various different brackets and mounting clips, making them more or less universal. I did some poking around, but couldn't find a 4pin to 3pin adapter, but I'm sure they exist. Even if they don't, just make sure that you use the Black-Yellow-Green wires and not the Blue when you plug it into the MB; Black goes on Pin 1 of the CPU fan power header (double check this in your MB manual); Yellow in the middle; Green on Pin 3.... the fan voltages are the same...
