What Windows Version are you using? (helps in suggesting software)

Also could you expand a bit on what you are after? I'm roughly guessing you are talking about the likes of technical and medical journals? but then I could be wrong. Basically for me and medical journals, we have to conform to whatever template the said journal wishes us to have, then we use MS Word.

But if you can expand more on "journals" then we can suggest an app or tool.

So do you already have a template for this sports journal (BTW what is the Sports Journal you are going to publish in)? if you already have a template what format is it in .doc .pdf etc

Is this for an academic project/journal? they tend to be one/two text box column ones and MS Word (Sun Open Office) can do those very easily, can also add pictures if needed.

then once created in say Word you can then use the free DoPDF to print the file to a PDF document.

Dont know if I'm close with any of this, so if you have any links to samples of what you are trying to do, it may help me at least, get closer to what you are after.
