Software Removal

Hey there,
I have something wired going on. I thought I uninstalled my Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended and I still get notices to install Acrobat 9.0 updates. I searched everything and I cannot find where the software is located. Now I have short cut icon on my desktop for Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended. I have checked the properties of the icon and the properties indicate the software is still installed on my computer located here, (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe). I want to completely remove all aspects of Acrobat 9.0, how do I go about doing this?
