I have never seen this tip in any Forum, Tip, Thread or Book that I have read.

If you ever run "Start", "Run", then "Cmd" (or Command) and up pops a poor white text on a back background, here is the fix.
    (see thumbnails).

Click on "Start", "Search box", "Run", then "Cmd" (or Command),
or Orb "Start", "Search box", "Run", then "Cmd" (or Command),
    or other OS equivalent.

    Then
    • click on the almost hidden icon in the TOP RIGHT of the popup that opens.
    • Click on PROPERTIES, then.
    • Choose the Screen Background colour (of 16), and the
    • Screen Text colour (of 16) that you like, to get rid of the Microsoft default.

    Your choices, of course. ;)
    Easy ain't it.:-D
A lot easier to read and/or printout, IMHO.
    Authors take note.

    Hope you like it.

It is in the window Control Menu, and the button is at the Top Left.
The quickest way to access that menu is with ALT+SPACE.

You can make those color choices "stick" after the selection by clicking the radio button in the dialog box that follows that says:
"Save properties for future windows with same title"

You can also change the font and font size and even the Size and Position of the window.

I spent a lot of time, years ago, fooling around with CMD window properties because I used to do a lot of work in DOS.
With DOS, there were even utilities that would allow you to change the actual palette so that those 16 colors were different.
Unfortunately, those utilities do not work with Windows XP and later.

    Have some Fun: :-D
