I am wondering if anyone knows of good software, hopefully freeware but not necessarily, that will enable me to play VCD's on my PC. I have a large collection of still photos stored on VCD and I would like to be able to play them on the PC instead of the standing DVD player. I noticed that Major Geeks has the Zoom Player Standard. Would that be suitable?
I am using Windows 98 and it is generally 80% free. You can problably tell that I am not really a Geek; I don't know much about computers; I can barely spell "cat" when it comes to software.
Still, I'm hoping somewhere out there exists the answer.
Thanks in advance to whoever can help.

You can use Windows Media Player, all you need are the MPEG-2 codecs, they shouldnt be too hard to find... hope thats some help...

Well.... you can't actually just use WMP straight off. First you need to get the files from the CD... Go into the MPEGAV folder (i think?) copy the .DAT files and rename them to .mpg files, and you can play them. :)

I've not come across a program that will do that otherwise... unfortunatley.
