Software to print...........

I have a folder on my desktop called music, then inside this folder are the sub-folders for artists, then inside them folders are their songs.

Does anyone know of a piece of software that will allow me to print the entire contents of the music folder.

Or if not print it, then save it as a text file or something.

I would of thought it was something that could be done directly from Windows, but I can't find a way.

Open the music folder ....control +A ....control+C .....open notepad ....control+V then file/print

You'll probably have to highlight each title (while holding the contriol key) then do the aforementioned after they are all highlighted.

Oh no, they all highlighted ok, then they seemed to copy ok, but they just would not paste into Notepad. I even tried pasting them into Wordpad in case that made a difference.

No, sorry, i had already tried paste special anyway, just tried pasting in to paint but would still not work.

That was nearly it Toni, but I wanted it to list the contents of the folders in music as well, not just the actual folders in music.

Pros: This program works great. I can now print out all the contents of my folders. I have lots of CD's in my music folder, now I have it in print. Now if I burn a CD, I can also print the song titles out too. I like the capture part of the program also. It works fine, and have no problems with it. The configure screen is easy, and this program is free? I'm sold ! Thanks

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what it is you're trying to do. The pic is the contents of MY Music Folder...List View
I can now Print it from within my Graphics Viewer (IrfanView) Is that what you need to do?

This is what I am actually trying to achieve, where Music is the actual folder on the desktop, Artist 1, 2 & 3 are the folders within the Music folder, then the Songs inside the Artists folders.

So hopefully I would be able to print out a list in the format as shown below.

A possible way to do what you want, may not be exactly how you want it but I use this free app to print DIRs easily http://www.spadixbd.com/freetools/jdirprint.htm it does a main list at the top of the folders then lower down lists the title and contents of each folder, saved in a TXT file.

Do check the Recurse Sub-directories is ticked ( and other Options for data printed can be changed in the Options Menu eg. Date/Time, Attributes etc ) and it will layout your list kinda like you want... give it a try tho.

Thanks Halo, it was not quite what I was expecting but it is certainly a step closer to what I want to do, and with a little bit of editing I can get the list to look how I want it.
