I have a video which worked before with a previous system. It's a music teaching video with graphics showing the sheet music at the foot like a karaeoke. I have windows media and have tried real player can you suggest a freeware programme please.

 

File name with extension might be of some help. Or you may just need to install a codec pack and make sure all of its options are enabled to get it to operate with Windows Media. I use Vista Codec Pack on XP.

VLC is a handy player as well as Mplayer and kmplayer.
