Someone help me find compatible Video cards?

Im flexible as far as 300$, anything after that is kind of pushing it. i would like to stay at most up to 250$.

Go ahead and mention whatever you reccomend for getting MAX settings and 60FPS on games like Fallout 3/The Witcher, regardless of the cost (keeping in mind i dont want a 600$ card if i can do it with a 200$ one >_>)

 

I'm running a 9800 GT with a Q6600 and It maxes out in Unreal Tourment 3, COD4 and 5, As well as this new game I'm playing Section 8 with great FPS.

Yes ATI has good card but my experience with them hasn't been so great but that was two year ago. They could be better now.

 

I dont mean they're not good cards, they're underpowered. my 8800GT blasts a 9800 out of the water. I max out crysis with 8xantialiasing on 1280*1024 and get a solid 40FPS on it

I'd agree with you there ona ti not being the best before, but the marklet has shifted. nVidia may have the most powerful cards out there at the moment, (the GTX275 being the best bang for buick ive found) the ATI HD4850 cards are just unreal. I bought one for a friend of mine for 100 euro, and he plays stalker on 1080P on his TV with max settings without any noticeable problems. The cards are just os good for their price. iof you have the money I'd go for the GTX275, (or even a 295 if you ahve it, but they're not THAT much more powerful, not considering the price) but for 100 quid you relaly couldnt do much better than the 4850. next step up would probably be the GTX series IMO.

eh well i dont HAVE 300$ for a card, but when i get some moeny im gonna budget my card for at MOST 300$.. and also that card as some pretty shady responses... you sure thats worth the money? also 1.8 gigs? wtf man what will i do with that? correct me if im wrong but most games, especialy the ones im interested in, will never make use of that much memory, correct?

I really think this is a good idea for the price, Its such a good card, cant really go wrong with it.

a Q6600 @ 2.4GHz,
2GB DDR2 ram
8800GT 512MB
all very very comfortable at 1280*1024 on vista, usually with msn, FF and media player running in the background.

 

you can get DDR2 and DDR3 RAM sticks...?

Ok so look back at my comp on page 1 and tell me, you think my RAM is just RAM...? as in NOT DDR2/DDR3?...

Yup, you can. your ram is most likely DDR2, if it was bought any time recently, dell have only in the last few months moved up to DDR3, buyt most of us are still on DDR2. yeah sure, PM me me your MSN, im on and off all day, moving out this weekend so packing bags etc.

You don't need to have DDR3 ram in your pc to run a DDR3 card.
