Something is killing my processes

Well you read it, I'm still having tons of trouble after reading Major Attitudes tutorials, using tons of programs and online scanners.

I know the swen virus (or something like it) kills your processes like task manager or anything ran under RUN but I did a scan for it using Mc afee avert stinger, AVG, spybot Search & Destroy, ad aware with malware plugin, I tried 2 online scanners.

I also have to keep turning my zone alarm off because it keeps cutting off my internet randomly or causes great lag in games, which is wierd because it used to reduce lag.

Anyone have any suggestions of what I can do?

I'm on windows XP using SP2 on a 1.7 with 256 ram, using 1 mb cable internet.

 

Is this the same problem you had posted about the other day? You may want to stick with the same thread so everyone can follow your progress from start to finish, otherwise you'll have to keep posting the same info over and over.


Did you do follow the instructions that Chopinpl, PhilliePhan, and snakefoot gave you in the other thread?

 

After setting my zone alarm to the lead wall stage, I finnaly found what was opening the ports.

winse.exe

I googled, apparently it's a worm that runs off of klys.exe or something. . to much lingo.

I could not find any specific removel tools, or windows patches.


I found about 5 winse.exe running at once.

EDIT/ it's help in the Windows/Prefect area.
EDIT2/ Winwasher.exe is also running and is a known trojan. . .

why is nothing being caught by AVG?

I suggest you post this in the Spyware Specific forum for chaslang to look at. He'll probably know the fix right off the top of his head

Describe for him the steps you've gone through on the tutorials so that he doesn't refer you back to them!
