Sony webcam challenge!!!!

this is a tuff one, I can usually fix pc's, can't get to the bottom of this one: Sony notebook w/vista home premium & webcam will not function with sony video capture program. Camera shows up fine device manager, no probs, but not in the sony program. I'm new at troubleshooting webcams, can somebody help me? I did all the usual, sys restore, uninstalled drivers, is there a free program i can use to test the camera? help appreciated!

Is the cam builtin or external

 

its builtin camera model VGP-VCC4 drivin me nuts, up all night trying to get to the bottom of it!

 

I used VirtualDub with my cam at home but it is external you can download it here if you want

SOLVED!!!!! took about 6 hrs but I finally dug and found a camera driver folder in C >WINDOWS> drivers >, camera ,> pick the x86 exe, then clicked install and all works fine now!!!:-D
Sony wanted me to do a clean install!!!
