Sound Card And Cd Rom Probs

HI

I have just had the 3rd cd/dvd burner installed from the shop i bought the pc cos the others had died. Since they have put this one in I am getting this horrible clicking-buzzing noise from my sound card. I never had this prob before. I have uninstalled the snd card drivers and reinstalled and updated them but the same happens. I unplugged my speakers from the card and plugged my headphones directly into and get the same prob, hence why I think it is from the snd card.

Any help would be very appreciated as I write music and I cant have this noise while I am trying to work. I really dont want to take it back to the shop cos IMHO they r crap and not convinced they know what they r doing and the only other reputable pc shop near me is 2 hours away.

Please please help, I need to write choons.

I have all latest drivers

 

Sounds like they could have connected the cd analog audio or digital audio cable to the wrong connector on the sound card or connected it upside down on the cd/dvd drive or sound card. Is rather simple, I believe ther are some simple pics and directions as how to connect the sound card to a dvd or cd drive included in the box for the sound card, take a look.

If you are getting this sound when you are not playing music or any sounds, pull the card out and reseat it in the pci slot.
