Thanks for the report, it has pointed me in the right direction for a fix for your board.....

    http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P5GC-MX/1333&p=1&s=22

your drivers for your system are at that link, please install the chipset driver first (first one on list) then re-boot, then you need to install the audio driver (first one on the list also) re-boot for your system to recognise the changes.

Bookmark the link in case you enter any more issues ;) did you install the uaa driver?? as your sound will not work without it, I would also suggest that you also go to sp3.

    Hi Nubz,
Can you check to see if if windows audio is started and set to Automic for me please....

Start> Control Panel> Admin Tools> Services> scroll down the page and see if the settings are correct for Windows Audio.... see attachment as that is what it should look like (though there might be a little variation as as mine is of 7)....

If it is not the same as mine You need to enter your BIOS and check to see if the Audio is turned on.

    Try this also please....

go to the services list again and rightclick on the windows audio>properties>dependencies tab> see what is in that list, if you see Multimedia Class Scheduler check to make sure that this has not been disabled, this can be found on the same list in services just higher up the list, rightclick>properties>general tab> start up type> automatic> service status> start.

    Hi nit,
I know that this can be very frustrating:cry but try and stick with me whilst we try the fixes ;). When you formatted did you install the chipset driver first (it is very important that this was the first to be installed) then VGA driver, then Audio, then your internet connection drivers LAN/WAN.
Please also check in the BIOS that your card is actualy enabled.... go into your bios (f1 or del) under the advanced tab Go to Itergrated Peripherals look for your onboard sound and make sure that it is enabled use the +/- keys to change its value, please do not change anything else in the BIOSas this will render your machine unusable.

can you also take ascreen shot of your Device Manager with the sound/video ang games controller tree expanded and post it here please.
