Well, there are two things that will make your music (and games too) sound better. A sound card (duh) and speakers (also duh). If you can let us know what kind of sound card and speakers you have, we could recommend which, if either, you should upgrade.

Dont mean to butt in here, but i was wondering the exact same thing. I currently have 6 channel sound on my motherboard, and Logitech Z640 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers.

Sorry for steping in JJJIrish05. Hope fully we can both get our questions answered. :D

just wanted to know a good cheap sound card i can get to make my music sound better, cause it really isn't that great

I think it is the speakers that matter more. I tried three different sets of speakers on my PC before I was satisfied.

    The winner was Altec Lansing.

The onboard sound on any nForce 2 motherboard is pretty good. I don't think you could find a 'cheap' sound card that can give you any better quality there. If I were you, I'd get a good 4.1/5.1 setup from Creative/Logitech, or for a little more money Klipsch. That would probably be the most worthwhile upgrade. However, if you still feel you need a better sound card, I hear a lot of people use the Soundblaster Audigy 2 line of cards. I also hear good things about M-Audio cards. But, I don't think they will be too cheap. Probably $60-$70 or more.

JJ I have my subwoofer above me, my center speaker on top of my monitor, two fronts to the sides of the monitor, and two rear speakers in the wall kinda behind me. Its really not a bad setup. These Logitech 640 speakes are really nice. Only $60 now.
