What OS and Service pack are you running?
Was it the proper driver(updated and such)?

If the sound is integrated, you might need motherboard/chipset drivers.

Is your sound integrated or do you have a sound card?

    Hi,
Everest will give us a better picture of your machine .......

speccy is best for information on Vista/Win 7 machines, it misses a lot of inf out of earlier OS's like 98/XP. Also be advised that if you have used speccy that it will display your windows key and ip address, you will need to edit these out before postin the log, only your ip address will need editing in everest.
When you formatted and installed the drivers did you also install the uaa drivers as you are still at SP2. I would strongly advise to update to SP3 as this may fix the issue that you are having.

    Hi,
In your report it says you have a usb sound card plugged in?? do you?? if so unplug it.

go to start> control panel> add/remove programs> uninstall the realtek drivers.

download and install the driver for your board from here....

reboot so that your system recognises the changes. post back and let me know if you have sound. also could you tell me the make and model of your machine and if it has a service tag.
