Sound Problem Plz help

hi there, im having problems with my sound, about 20mins ago i was playing WoW and my sound suddenly dropped out, so i restarted the game, but still nothing, so i ran media player and found that my sound has not cut out, but the volume has dropped dramatically, i have gone through all my volume controlls, everything is turned up to max, i reinstalled my sound drivers but it still didnt fix it.

My sound is a Nforce 2 built in to my mobo ASUS A7N8X Deluxe

any advice will be appreciated

 

I would first ask you to check all the plugs at the rear of the pc and speaker connections and post back. What type of speakers do you have? Is there a chance that your volume on the keyboard could have been turned down.?

 

connections are fine, not sure on exact model of speakers but they are logitech 5.1, its not the speakers, as i plugged in headphones and the problem is still there
