sound problem????

    yup..my sound isn't in the task bar and i tried reinstalling my audio driver but still not working.

    srry delete this i already have another thread open.

    You just need the icon back? You can do that under your control panel, then click "Sound and Audio Devices", then check the box next to "Place volume icon in the taskbar".

    That answer it for you?

    Start > control panel > sound and Audio devices.

    Do you have one listed at top next to the speaker? Click the check mark to show in the task bar if it's not there. This problem is very vague. If this doesn't help we can move on to check your system devices.

    it says "windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the volume control program has not been installed."

    Do you have a sound card or are you using the sound from your motherboard?

    Is your computer pre-bought? Which brand/model?

    Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware Tab > Device Manager under sound what do you have listed and do you have any Red exclamation points or yellow question marks? If so over which ones?

    i have an older pre bought dell computer

    dimension 2400

    and there is no red or yellow exclamation

    also heres whats listed

    audio codecs
    legacy audio drivers
    legacy video capture drivers
    media control devices
    soundmax integrated digital audio
    unimodem half-duplex audio drive
    video codecs

    yah i have it already. and i have tried the newest verion and an older version but niether worked yet.

    in that support page i need a win xp cd. i don't have a win xp cd. what should i do.

    should I download sndvol32.exe and throw it in my system32 file?
