Sound problems

    Ok so i'm having no sound too .. My Pc is a home built .. heres my info Plz some one help me .Motherboard Name PCChips M811
    audio adapter Creative sbpic128 (ct4815) sound card
    audio adapter via ac'97 enhanced audio controller
    operating system microsoft windows xp professional

    Go into the BIOS and disable the on board audio. Right when you turn on the PC, you get into the BIOS by pressing F1 or F2 or Del (it's different on different PCs). Then look though the BIOS for Integrated Peripherals (or something similar) and then disable the on board audio (or AC97 audio) adapter. Be sure to save the settings and reboot. Windows XP should have the drivers built-in for that sound card. Creative no longer has drivers available for download (that model is pretty old). If XP doesn't install the Creative card, go into the Device Manager and see what's listed under Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. If it shows any question marks ? or exclamation points ! right click them and select Uninstall. Then restart the PC. If that doesn't help, shut down, unplug the power cord, and remove the Creative card from the motherboard. Boot up with the card removed. After XP loads, shut down again, unplug the power cord, and put the card back in. When you power up, XP should install it....
