I now have my stereo output running through my soundcard so that I can process the signal. But the PC will enter standby even though the signal is being run through the card. Is there a way to avoid standby without having to adjust the power settings? Is it that the CPU isn't in use, just the chip on the card. If the CPU were working then the PC wouldn't hibernate.

Hmmmm.. Without adjusting the power settings? Not sure??
That is where the settings you are looking for are start>control panel>power options>power schemes--last drop menu at bottom set it to system hibernate ---Never.

Yes the cpu is in use when you are proccesing a signal, even from an outside source.

Is that it or have you already done this ?

I am trying to understand why the PC enters hibernate when the sound card is use with a fed in signal, but doesn't hibernate when the signal is streaming from the net. I could just disable hibernate, but I'd have to enable hibernate again later.
