Do any of you geeks know how to configure Sound recorder in WinME to record beyond 60 seconds? Or is this the max that it was designed for?

Yes, you can, but its annoying. You have to click the record button every minute to make it start again. Its not the best tool in the world though, and there are lots of freeware wave editors on the net these days :)

Thanks Bill. That looks as though it will fill the need quite nicely. I'll D/L this proggie when I get home and check it out. I took it as a high compliment that you thought that I was BAZ :p :D :p

Now thats a cool program. Personally, I use Cool Edit Pro v2.1, but thats just because I use it semi-professionally (recording people, mastering tracks, video soundtracking...), and now its turned into Adobe Audition, and therefore much more expensive ;)

Hey Boccemon....there is a way... takes a little fiddleing but it works... first open recorder, turn off mike or any sound source, and record for 60 seconds, then save it as 'blank.wav'... now click on 'insert' and insert the file you just made, and the limit will change to 120 seconds, do this for as many times as you have to, and then 'save as' give it another name... I made one called 5minuteblank.wav. The next time you want to record something, ...open 5minuteblank.wav, re save as... give it whatever name you want, and then record..... works great.
