Ok for about 5 days now, I have been having this sound issue. The sound lags, skips, and is distorted. Also, I think this might have something to do with my CPU, as it usually idles at like 3%, where now it is idling around 50-70%. The temp is usually like 72F when idling, but is now around 85F when idling. My mouse also lags sometimes.

This all started on Sunday when I was playing Flight Simulator X. My computer all of a sudden crashed after I switched to an outer view of my aircraft. The sound skipped and I got a really low FPS right after changing the view, and that's when it crashed. It had to do the hard drive checks, and the BIOS is now taking a lot longer to load then it did, along with the overall boot time of the computer. It's almost like FSX did something, but what would it have done? I don't know...

At the time, I had my GPU slightly overclocked, my CPU overclocked from 2.33ghz to 2.45ghz, with increased voltage ofcourse, and that's it. These settings have been like that for a while though, so I really don't think they had anything to do with the crash.

Thanks for any help in advance! Let me know if there is any more information needed!

Hey there, I'm having a similar problem. I just rebuilt this system for my mom, So these are all new parts.

    Specs:

    MSI 945GM3-F Mainboard
Intel E2200 2.2GHz Pentium Dual Core Running at default speed.
    2GB (2048MB) DDR 667 Dual Channel
    Diamond Extreme Audio 7.1 32bit
    Sansung SP0802N 80GB 7200RPM IDE/ATA100 (a spare HDD I had)
    nVidia 8600GT 256 DDR3 PCI-E

Comment: The Audio and Video card I just put in today. In an attempt to remedy the problem. Not successful.

Problem: When the CPU starts working the sound will crackle and pop. Thats why I put in the new sound card. There is no way there could be spyware/adware/viruses because everything was just installed. This think is protected better than fort knocks.

    Examples:

While watching a video on youtube, the processore works to temporarily save the information, thus the sound skips. When the video has finished loading the sound smooths out and runs perfect unless I run something in the background.

Window Media player will run ok untill I turn on a visualization, it will skip a little. Then I minimize windows media player, and it skips so much that you can't even tell whats playing.

    Conclusion:

It has to be something to do with the CPU, I'm not sure what though. I've tried en/disabling "SpeedStep" But that has no effect. I hav'nt overclocked anything because it is'nt my system.

Any help will be MUCH appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Medicinial, don't highjack bladecx321's thread. You need to start a new thread with your problem not add your problem to any thread.
