Does anyone here remember "Soupy Sales"?
He was quite the comedian, and was most famous for the "Pie in the face" .. Heck, I think he started that LOL Well, we lost him last night, at the age of 83. :( I used to watch him when I was little. Yeah, really little.. .
    Another good one gone.....:(

OH Man I remember him well coming up. I do remember one incident where he dropped something on the floor and when he bent over to pick it up forgot the mic was still on and said"Damn it" The next thing I know the T.V. went to a commercial and when he came back on he was apologizing profusely to the public and mention several times to us kids that was a very bad word and Soupy should never had said it. When I ran to tell my mom that he said a bad word on tv she didn't believe me until I called her in the room when he came back on. He was a very funny guy. Too bad they don't have people like that now for our grand children.
Just loved the pie in the face.couldn't get enough of that.
    Thanks for the info TC

I remember seeing Soupy on TV being the "acting" coach for the Harlem Globetrotters. In one scene, he asked for a new basketball, attempted to bounce it, but the ball broke. He quipped something to the fact, "I told the cleaners not use so much starch". LOL

I missed that one, but do remember him telling all us little kids to "Go into Mommy's purse and take out all the bills that had a President on them, and send them to Soupy!" LOL I actually went to my Ma's purse, but there wasn't any Presidents in her purse! roflmao Hey, I was a KID! :p Besides, he only got $1, and gave that to Charity... roflmao roflmao

He was a very cool guy, and will for sure be missed. ;)

I have an early childhood memory of him, other than that --- RIP Soupy. I think I saw some reruns or a TV special of his show, don't remember much of it though...

I vaguely remember his show back in the '70's. There was a Pookie Lion and Hippy Hippo, or some such. I was a bit old for that stuff by then.

    ~ R.I.P., Soupy.

I remember 'ol Soupy. Not seen him on TV in years, not since the 70's or so. Good old fashioned, clean comedy.

    Godspeed, Mr. Sales.
